What is Smartlipo Triplex? The Smartlipo Triplex is an FDA approved fat melting laser that permanently destroys fat cells. Currently, this is the most advanced laser on the market for fat reduction. This procedure is done under local anesthesia, so you will be awake through the process. We will give you a mild sedative to help you relax. Once you are in the procedure room, a numbing solution will numb your skin before small incisions about the size of a pinky nail are placed in the area to be treated. After that, a numbing solution will be placed through the incision site to numb the fat pocket. After the fat pocket is number, the laser is then inserted underneath the skin. The fiberoptic laser will emit an energy that will cause the fat cells to rupture and liquefy. It is almost like they pop like a bubble. After that takes place the fat is now in a liquid state. A small cannula is then inserted and the liquefies fat is removed. After the fat has been removed from the area, you are wrapped in a compression garment, and sent home for the evening.
