Traditional Liposuction vs TriContour with Smartlipo Triplex
Traditional Liposuction
Many are familiar with the Youtube videos that show traditional liposuction. The patients are asleep on the operating room table while the surgeon is working a liposuction cannula in and out of their body to mechanically break up and suck out the fat. Ouch! The mechanical forces used in liposuction do not only damage and destroy fat cells. The large cannulas also can damage other tissues, like blood vessels, skin and muscles. This can lead to a prolonged recovery with severe bruising and even a lumpy appearance.
The TriContourTM Difference
The TriContourTM technique was developed to ensure comfort and improve results. It utilizes the latest body contouring technology available to remove fat cells permanently while reducing the risk of bruising and shortening recovery time.
The procedure begins by infusing a special numbing medicine into the fat that will be removed. This numbing medicine is then allowed to work a period of time until the anesthetic is fully active. Dr. Miller then uses a form of energy that will melt the fat. This energy is delivered in two forms:
1. Smartlipo TriplexTM: This is a laser light energy source that has three distinct frequencies, each designed for a specific purpose: to cauterize the tissue, melt the fat, and stimulate collagen production to help with loose skin.
2. VASER LiposculptureTM: This technology uses ultrasonic vibrational energy to melt fat. It is used when the fat is particularly fibrous or when a patient requires a revision after traditional liposuction. (This should not be confused with ultrasonic cavitation).
After the energy source has melted the fat, a small diameter tube is then used to remove the melted fat gently and to sculpt the patient’s body to its optimal shape.
The result of this procedure is less discomfort, minimal downtime, and superior results.
